]]>Every year more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States - just one of the reasons that the prevention of child abuse is a cause near and dear to the heart of Eufora Co-founder, Beth Bewley. For more than 15 years, the Bewley family has helped support the fight against child abuse through Eufora fundraising programs, and this April, during Child Abuse Awareness Month, Eufora is once again partnering with Childhelp (a national organization dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of abused and at-risk children) to raise awareness and lead a much needed fundraising outreach. The April 2021 fundraising campaign will maximize reach with a two-pronged approach that provides for in-salon fundraising events as well as a digital fundraising challenge.
Understanding that the Childhelp organization works to build confidence, by helping children face and overcome vulnerabilities, is what brought the theme for a Eufora digital challenge to life. In a show of solidarity, Eufora is encouraging their followers to share their most vulnerable moments - whatever makes them feel their proudest, boldest and most confident. Maybe it’s baking that perfect loaf of bread, reaching the peak of a hike, finishing a marathon or just hanging out with kids for family time. Whatever it may be, Eufora wants to see these moments. While icy cool steel grey blondes are all the rage, getting that killer color often leaves the hair in a delicate state. Another challenge - the cooler the tone, the more challenging it is to keep the color “on point” in between salon visits. Inevitably, shampooing, styling and environmental stressors will begin to “wear” on any fresh from the salon color, revealing unwanted underlying tones and brassiness. The solution? Eufora International has announced the theme for their 2021 Eufora Salon Owners Network (ESON) meetings, Building Blocks for Salon Hyper Growth. Each quarter, Eufora leadership will tackle the tough questions presented to salons as they rebuild their businesses in a post-COVID world. Meetings will be held virtually, and will include presentations from top Eufora execs as well as leading salon owners and industry experts. All attendees will have the opportunity to “test drive” key learnings via online exercises, and will leave the meetings with workbooks and templates to help facilitate salon implementation.
The Quarter 1 ESON meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 25th, and will cover topics relevant to building a power team. Eufora Executive Vice President of Sales, Fred Phillips, will present 3 Traits To Look For When Recruiting, during which he will share insight into ideal traits as well as the positive and negative implications of each in order to prepare owners for both recruitment and development. According to Phillips, “Owners should seek out candidates who have a balance of all three traits, but doing so is not as simple as it sounds. It is easy to be swayed by a high powered or charismatic personality, so we are also providing salon owners with a curated list of interview questions to help them more objectively navigate the selection process.”
Rounding out the Quarter 1 ESON meeting is guest speaker Debbie Penzone, CEO and President of Penzone Salons, who will present a segment on Recruiting, Onboarding and Loyalty, instilling the importance of building a salon team that embraces and displays a strong, united salon culture.
Adopting the practices shared in this first ESON meeting will set the foundation for additional “hyper growth” tactics to be shared in future 2021 meetings. The gifts have been put away, and the wrapping paper, ribbons and bows long gone...or are they? Did you know that most gift wrapping is not eco-friendly, and cannot be recycled, especially if glitter, metallic or foil are involved. In fact, holiday wrapping, improperly disposed of, can contaminate an entire recycling pick-up causing it to be rerouted by yet another dump truck to the landfill. For the 2020 holiday season, Eufora took that problem to task and abandoned traditional gift boxed sets in favor of keepsake birch wood boxes; no wrapping paper required!
Once all the decor was put away, Eufora continued the project with the launch of its first in a series of “upcycling” initiatives, showing off the work of corporate staffers who repurposed their own birch wood boxes. From bird houses, to terrariums and even city chic handbags, the results to date have been amazing. Eufora is embracing its green roots, with a reinvigorated Sustainability Committee, appropriately renamed Team Green. The Team is led by Eufora Brand Manager, Liz Danzig who hosts bi-weekly virtual meetings to discuss both local and global concerns. Danzig reignited the committee with her personal passion for planet friendly practices. “Given the Eufora people and planet friendly philosophy and clean beauty platform, it only made sense to expand the reach of our Sustainability Committee. It is our responsibility to create good global karma, protecting the planet for future generations.”, says Danzig.
On a local level Team Green hosts Beach and Community Clean Ups. Most recently the Team visited Tyson Street Beach in Oceanside, CA. More than one dozen team members made a morning of it. Their trash collection netted pounds of plastics and cans, plus abandoned clothing, shoes and even grilling tools...all successfully diverted from the ocean.
The Beach Clean Up was followed by the 1st annual Eufora Clothing Exchange which gives new meaning to the word “recycle”. Eufora staffers were invited to bring in clean, gently worn clothing, and Team Green catalogued it all, then assigned socially distanced viewing times to everyone at headquarters who wanted to shop the new company store. Items that weren’t selected during the Exchange were donated to the Women’s Resource Center in Oceanside, CA.
When it comes to “green” initiatives at Eufora Corporate Headquarters, Team Green has been instrumental in eliminating the use of plastic plates, cups and serveware in the building, shifting to more sustainable materials such as paper and bamboo. Team Green also initiated a partnership with TerraCycle to collect cigarettes. Three receptacles outside the Eufora building make it easy for smokers to dispose of cigarettes in a safe and eco-friendly fashion. Contents of filled receptacles go back to TerraCycle where tobacco paper is separated out and composted. Filters are repurposed and used to create various types of plastics. To date Eufora has diverted over 14,500 cigarettes from landfills and streets.
On a global level, Eufora Salons help support the Team Green mission when they become a Green Circle Salon. Eufora Salons that are Green Circle Certified (this includes the Eufora California and New York Academies) have diverted over 1,713,476 pounds of salon waste from landfills and waterways.

”Even short men’s cuts can be flexible if you know how to craft a smart cut so that the wearer has multiple style options! Download the PDF >>]]>We’ve all heard of pH and know that, for some reason, it’s important to our well-being. But, don’t you ever wonder exactly why pH matters? Doug Smith, Brand Manager for Eufora HERO for Men™ recently broke down the simple facts.
Humans (and their skin) are naturally balanced on the pH scale between 4.0 and 6.5. (HELPFUL HINT: anything below a 7 on the pH scale is acidic, and anything above 7 is alkaline.) Human pH is slightly on the acidic side of the pH scale so personal care products such as shampoo, conditioner and other body and skin care will work best if they’re slightly acidic. Why? Simply stated, humans all have a natural barrier called the acid mantle. This barrier helps reduce the risk of bacteria, dirt and other substances infiltrating the skin and potentially leading to irritation and breakouts. Products that don’t match the human acid mantle will disrupt the natural ability to keep skin and hair looking and feeling healthy.
Is there any harm, really? Absolutely! Any shampoo, treatment, shave or body product that is too acidic can be drying to the skin and hair. Think about how your hair feels if you have ever rinsed with lemon juice or vinegar! However, go too far the other direction and the alkaline pH can make skin and hair too “soft”- often susceptible to dehydration and irritation - which kind of explains why sometimes skin feels tight or dry after using aerosol shave cream or bar soap. “And, don’t let the ingredient list on the package fool you” cautions Smith. “Yes - good ingredients are always important, but they can’t provide peak performance if the product formulation isn’t balanced to your natural pH level.”

Look around and you will notice more and more women choosing to crop their locks and sport shorter, easy care hair. Pixies are reappearing on women of all ages, and it looks like the women who wear short hair well are those who are most willing to “push” style sensibilities. Sometimes slick and sophisticated other times curly and natural. Sometimes mixed media with hair accessories, bands and pins to embellish. It all depends on what suits their mood.
The key is styling options that provide a powerful arsenal for the wearer. In a recent New York photoshoot, Eufora Style Director Mirza Batanovic set out to acknowledge the wants and needs of today’s women (especially those in his home town of NYC) creating powerful looks for those who tend to carve their own path when it comes to hair and fashion trends. Independent and sometimes defiant, they are definitely not trend followers, and, like chameleons, may totally change their look to suit their surroundings.
Batanovic’s vision was to design looks that would defy the idea that short hair limits what you can do with your style. “Even with a short pixie you can create dozens of different looks by simply changing up your regimen of products, styling tools and how you use them.” says Batanovic.
When unleashing a Power Pixie, the look doesn’t end with the cut. Color plays a big part in the style statement. For Batanovic’s pixie, the peek-a-boo root brought to life a powerful personality; someone who challenges the norm, and embraces the unexpected. (Thanks Madonna!) The dark roots also add a little depth and dimension.
Ultimately, if you want to be able to transition a pixie into multiple looks , it’s all about working with, not against, hair type and texture. The finished looks can then be styled to mirror a mood, personality or even environment. Creativity and versatility are key. This isn’t your evil stepmother’s dreadful copper penny home brew. Eufora’s Pumpkin Spice Copper is hauntingly dimensional and a head turning treat for all who dare to wear it.
The #1 trick to captivating coppers? According to Eufora Color Development Manager Joanne Rempel, “You must get your base to Level 7. That’s where orange and copper live naturally in underlying pigment. To create the perfect Pumpkin Spice Copper, Joanne shares her proven 4-step process.
Step 1: It’s all about the base. (The model was a Natural Level 7.)
EuforaColor Base Formula:
(1:1.5 mixing ratio)
Apply this “full strength” at the base (first 2-3 inches) and then dilute the formula with 50% No Ammonia Clear Shine Dilute and apply to mids and ends. Process fully and wash/rinse (do not condition).
Step 2: Pre-Lighten panels with foil.
The devil is in the details. At the top of the head, create 5 or 6 diagonal forward slices going against her natural part from the top of the crown to the hairline. On the sides, create 3 or 4 diagonal forward slices from the mastoid process to the side front hairline.
AloeLite Pre-Lighten Formula;
(1:1.5 mixing ratio)
Process to pale yellow and wash/rinse (do not condition).
Step 3: Tone for dimension.
This step will require 2 toning formulas. Don’t give up, extra energy here will yield the frightfully brilliant results.
EuforaColor Toning Formula for the top.
(1:2 mixing ratio)
EuforaColor Toning Formula for the sides.
(1:2 mixing ratio)
Process toner for a full 20 minutes to ensure full saturation that lasts. Wash/rinse once processed (do not condition).
Step 4: Get lasting results with a demi-permanent float of EuforaColor Artisan Direct Dye.
Artisan Tangerine Zest Floating Formula:
Globally apply for a massive infusion of reflective shine and color. Process for 20 full minutes, then thoroughly rinse and condition (do not shampoo).

Char keeps the Customer Service and Warehouse Teams humming, and wears the crown of logistics queen proudly. Eufora Distribution Specialist, Mirsad, is a unique member of the Eufora extended family. No need to ask about the color trends for Fall 2020. From New York to Paris the colors of the season showed up as sophisticated and subdued. Both warm and cool tones graced the runway, and they shared an earth inspired story. Neutrals inspired by nature.
