Ask a Hairdresser: How to Transition Your Hair Care from Summer to Fall

With summer coming to an end and fall knocking at our door our hair woes are likely transitioning from chlorine build up and sun damage to static frizz and dryness. Just like your skin may require a heavier moisturizer in the cooler months, your hair may be in need of a bit more nourishment as well. We asked some of our experts to share their favorite hair tips for switching it up for fall.

Jeannie Jachman, Eufora National Trainer

“When the lazy days of summer wind down and life amps back up into hectic school schedules our hair needs a fast reset solution. Fresh Effect Dry Shampoo saves time on busy mornings by giving yesterday’s style a reboot, allowing a little more time in bed and less time stressing our tresses. I recommend adding a layer of Gloss Dry Shine Spray over a refreshed style for added nutrients and shine!”

Jeffrey Mayo, Eufora National Trainer

“Moving into cooler and drier months means adjusting your hair care and styling regimen! Consider switching your conditioner to a more moisturizing formula, like Moisture Solution Conditioner, an excellent middleweight conditioner. Masks, like my favorite Moisture Masque, 2 to 3 times a week for 30 minutes to an hour are a great addition as well.”

Joanne Rempel, Eufora National Trainer

“My clients love to try darker hues like chestnut and copper in the fall and are looking for a way to keep those shades rich and vibrant. Often I like to recommend Color Revive as a way to keep hair color true to tone in between visits. The rich formulas condition while adding shine and are available in Blonde, Brunette, Red and Copper.”

Tiffany Londono, Eufora Educator

“In the fall there is usually less humidity in the air, which means that curly hair might require less hold from gel type products, but you still want something to enhance shape and definition. I recommend Curl'n Enhancing Shampoo and Conditioner followed by a light foam like Defining Solution to fortify and give curls extra bounce.”
